This week on AOL news brought forth a very interesting is Obama serious about immigration reform? President Obama and his advisors have only paid lip service to the idea of a comprehensive immigration reform during their first 14 month in office, but they have vowed support. They have gotten little done to push an issues that became the new third rail of America politics during George w. bush’s second term. The (current) Republican champion, Sen. Lindsey Graham, has laid down the gauntlet, challenging Obama to take a leadership role in advance of a Major Washington immigration rally planned for Sunday. Graham gave president Obama some harsh words for his lack of involvement on this issue saying “you do the heavy lifting” in a appearance on ABC “This Week.” asking for president Obama to put together his comprehensive immigration reform package and bring it to the senate and house and see how many democrats and republic can supporters you can get. Senator Graham giving stronger words yet to lack of president Obama lack of leadership in this issue has said, “All you have done is talking about what we should do, now is the time to lead.” In an already fraught election-year political climate, Obama’s response will be telling.
This for me holds some controversial questions on both sides of this political equation to be answered. First why is president Obama lack leadership and dragging there feet an not getting a reform package together. Surely as much as he rode his predecessors coat tails and talked about it he would finally come forth with a package by now. Second is how come when president Obama offers a great package for a issue the Senate and House just cut it back and down to nothing of great use to Americans.
In my finial opinion there should be shame and harsh words for both parties for not working together better for American’s and America best interest.

My question for you is what should be done about immigration reform then? You seem to point fingers at multiple parties in this argument without offering a solution to any of the problems from illegal immigration.
ReplyDeleteHow would you address the rise in health care costs attributed to illegal's getting out of paying medical bills? What about the housing and job market for these people? and what of the jobs they allegedly take from our economy?
