Open admission at HACC

The question is asked, is the open admission policy at HACC a good idea or a bad idea? In my opinion and reasoning, this is good idea because of being a dislocated worker with no other trade or job opportunity to make it financially. My three reasons why it is good idea.
1. It allows those who didn’t graduate from high school and earned a GED or even a student’s GPA wasn't high enough to earn a scholarship in entering a normal college. This allows them an second chance and opportunity of learning in their selected field of interests. In which now a days most jobs are requiring more and more education to be able to apply for position.
2. The open admission also allows people who were not focused or financially ready for college at the time of graduation from high school. They may had no idea in what they really wanted to do for work and allowed some time to pass until they could figure it out. There also may have been possibilities of there parents never set money aside for them or they could not afford the expensive of tuition.
3. This opens a opportunity for people to achieve degree’s to advance them at there current jobs position. This will also help those people who have become a dislocated worker to find another field of interest in which they may enter. As this economic down turn has put thousands of workers on the unemployment line needing a new field of work. As the unemployment pool grows the company’s are now asking for more and more job related qualifying skills or associated degree’s to be able to apply for positions.
As there is in every argument there has to be counter position of why people would disagree with your position, these are the three that I have come up to appose my idea’s.
1. The employer of the individual going to school may feel that their dedication to their current job position maybe declining. This maybe a concern to the employer as they might not be able to work overtime as they are needed or required. The employer may asked or find out that their employee are taking interests in a different field then the current job position which may lead to them leaving the employer at a later date.
2. The concerns from the utility company, credit cards, and mortgage company’s are not to welcoming to this idea. There main concern is where’s are money? They repeatedly ask what more important to you, your credit history, losing your home to foreclosure or your education? They say why are you wasting time and money on a long education process when I should out looking for employment?
3. Future employer’s may not consider a open admission college graduate as highly as they would a regular college graduate, even if the open admission graduate would have high honors and high GPA scores. As most employer’s are looking for the cream of the crop in employee’s for their company. I could possibly see that open admission grads would be over looked and last to be considered for position.

Citi mortgage not following loan modicfication

My situation and finance’s has met the published requirements for loan modification under the program outlined by the President of the United States. I first contacted the loan modification program at CitiMortgage in February of 2009.I have given CitiMortgage all required information 6 times during the 6 month period since I first contacted them. Each time I am told there is missing information in my application. Today I called am was told that we do not meet the minimum requirements for loan modification. I received a letter recently asking for more documentation when I have supplied over and over again 6 times. It is my opinion that obfuscating the facts is the directive given by CitiMortgage management in order to avoid compliance and maximize profits.
This here is what I’m exactly talking about for the last eight months I have made half payment of 388.14 which comes to $3,005.12 which actually comes to four full payments. Now they say I’m not qualified for the loan modification any more and now have sent a foreclosure notice that I have to pay $6,915.79. How in the hell do they come up with this amount. That is what I would of paid at full payments plus late fee’s. They haven’t deducted what have paid which is half of that amount. I’m soo fricken pissed off. If I couldn’t come up with the full payments how the hell I’m I going to get the $6,915.79 to stop the foreclosure.
I have read in several articles published that this is a common tactic employed in the mortgage industry and that a thorough investigation and prosecution of the guilty need to be enforced by our government. This denial of a presidential directive is outrageous and undermines the faith of our citizenry in our governments willingness to enforce laws and directives for the mortgage relief program. Unless this is a farce perpetrated by our government I demand action of the first order to investigate and enforce the laws and statutes involving the oversight of the criminal organizations

Technology good or bad

Technology could be considered to be a good thing as it makes living easier and once impossible feats of process possible. To consider that technology is a bad thing is to look at the long term effects to the environment and living with the advancement and the demanding need for it. I can’t put myself on either side of this question to say it’s all good without finding something bad to say about some technology that we could have made.
Technology advancement could be defined as far back as the first cave-man made stone tools for needs to survive and live. Then soon after these were used as weapons to defend and kill there enemies and to kill there food supply. Even the very beginning of advancement the tools of technology were used for good and bad. This is happening all thru out history to even modern day that technology has double side sword to be used for good and bad. The implementing of the technology that we make and as we use it for without fore site of the long term effects it has on society and environment.
When the first idea of using a fuel source to power a engine to motivate a horseless carriage was concerned the greatest thing since sliced bread. With this technology advancement had come about there was no fore thought of would it’s effects would have on the entire world. Now in modern times we are dealing with cause of effects of the those fossil fuel releasing green house gas carbon dioxide in to the atmosphere and warm the planet.
The innovation of using uranium as nuclear power source has greatly improved the reliability of electricity in power plants, but now we have to deal with storage and disposal of this hazardous waste. This hazardous material lasts thousands of years with no real secure way of getting rid of it. We leave this problem for future generation to deal with and handle this task.
All these great technology advancement rely on one thing electronics. These sensitive instruments control everything from are cars, TV’s, cell phones and to are nuclear power plants. All this could come to crumbling end by a thing called a EMP which is given off by a nuclear bomb and strong cosmic solar flare by are sun. If this were to ever happen to United States it would be catastrophic to are society bring us to are knees and back to the stone age. They say it would take decades to even begin to rebound back. With each and every advancement there is good and bad we must look further past what we make before we become dependent upon it.

Health-care reform bill

Last week President Obama had signed the new health care bill for those 32 million Americans who are without insurance currently. This 2,000-page health insurance bill had left more than a few consumers confused about what the health care reform means to them. There has been more then a few incidents now that those who revoke this idea of this health care reform and have taken up showing there disapproval of the bill. These individuals have set out to find those who have voted to pass this bill and have stoned there offices, vehicles, and homes. Mulitiable news channels have shown this action going on where they have caused this destruction to there property. This 2,000-page bill hasn’t even been fully disclosed and read by the public. These actions seem to me to be childish an immature by these individuals. This is pure ignorance, because haven’t even had a copy to read and understand what this bill is about to act out like this yet? These ignorant person that caused this damage are they the wealthy fat cats who make over $250,000 a year don’t won’t to be taxed and already have insurance and financial security. I can’t see that any of the 32 million that don’t have insurance and jobs would be inclined to do this since they don’t have anything to lose and this would be helping them. As this unfolds on the news it strikes me as what you would happening in other countries revolting against there government.
There is only one part of this insurance reform bill that would have people upset and concerned about this plan. That is those who are employed must be a full time employee to receive insurance from there employer. Now are we going to see a trend of employers of companies and business only hiring part-time employee’s to relieve themselves of paying insurance and avoiding fines. Then this would be were the working class people would surly would be the ones to stand up and revolt against the employers and not the president or legislators.

Is Obama serious about immaigration reform

This week on AOL news brought forth a very interesting is Obama serious about immigration reform? President Obama and his advisors have only paid lip service to the idea of a comprehensive immigration reform during their first 14 month in office, but they have vowed support. They have gotten little done to push an issues that became the new third rail of America politics during George w. bush’s second term. The (current) Republican champion, Sen. Lindsey Graham, has laid down the gauntlet, challenging Obama to take a leadership role in advance of a Major Washington immigration rally planned for Sunday. Graham gave president Obama some harsh words for his lack of involvement on this issue saying “you do the heavy lifting” in a appearance on ABC “This Week.” asking for president Obama to put together his comprehensive immigration reform package and bring it to the senate and house and see how many democrats and republic can supporters you can get. Senator Graham giving stronger words yet to lack of president Obama lack of leadership in this issue has said, “All you have done is talking about what we should do, now is the time to lead.” In an already fraught election-year political climate, Obama’s response will be telling.
This for me holds some controversial questions on both sides of this political equation to be answered. First why is president Obama lack leadership and dragging there feet an not getting a reform package together. Surely as much as he rode his predecessors coat tails and talked about it he would finally come forth with a package by now. Second is how come when president Obama offers a great package for a issue the Senate and House just cut it back and down to nothing of great use to Americans.
In my finial opinion there should be shame and harsh words for both parties for not working together better for American’s and America best interest.

SOLUTIONS FOR OUR JOBS AND ECONOMY

This is a some what continence’s from my last blog except, these are my idea’s and solution to try to bring this economy back an millions of jobs American workers. First you must set your mind that this is dealing with the future of America. We as a nation, Americans, citizens, individuals and especially large companies an manufactures of products must take on the responsibility to bring this country out this recession or (soon to be depression) because our government is surly not making it happen for America. We “the people” put those people in power to represent us so we need to be heard that there’s not enough being done and we “as the people” have more power then them. There efforts of our government seem to be little to none on resolving the economic status of this country. For example as I stated in my previous blog that the Senate turned a 266 Billion dollar Jobs Bill to only a 15 billion dollar Jobs Bill.
The first thing is for the Senate stop cutting the Jobs Bill apart that there’s nothing left to be helpful. Reinstate the presidents first conceived Bill for the 266 Billion dollar or what ever it takes to bring the economy back.
The second thing to do is a very difficult one to make and it goes against what America stands for but, we really need to stop allowing foreigners coming into this country to work and taking jobs from Americans. There are two aspects of this going on here in this country. Those that come hear illegally and those that come here on work visa’s. those that come here illegally are taking jobs from Americans and receive benefits from are tax money. I seen and know that those who come here on work visa’s did not have to pay certain taxes if any at all and they were of retirement age and received social security from there country when they returned. This also is taking jobs and not paying their share of taxes of working here in America.
The third thing is a two part idea. That is to influence business, corporations, companies, and manufactures to limit or stop having their products being assembled or manufacture from other countries because of cheaper labor. This has to the highest job taker there is from this country. I know we have trade agreements with other nations an countries but we need to start thing about our economy and jobs. If we can make it here in the United States let’s due so and give a American a job! The second part is as I said before we as a American must make it are responsibility to take their part in this effort. What I mean by this is to take a look at what you buy is it made in the USA. We need to reinstate the idea and logic of buy American products made by American. There are many American companies having their products built, assembly or manufacture in a forgiven country.
The forth thing is long term idea and solution for a responsibly future. This is also hard to face and come to terms with but it is something we as culture and a nation must also soon address. Our population has grown exponentially in the last decades. I think that we will have to consider limiting on how many children are born a year or per mother. Our growth has exceeded are limits an breaking points. There’s no need to have families as we needed decades ago to work and help the family on the farms like use to be. The idea of having six or ten children has long gone past and we need to take responsibility.

Senates "Jobs Bill" plan

The outlook for jobs is looking worse and worse, with the review of the current statistics from various sources of media and job searches. The new release of the unemployment rate is at 10% at this time for Pennsylvania which is in the highest unemployment rate of the united states. In one publishing it goes on to say that approximate 450,000 people a month are being unemployed in the state of Pennsylvania. If this is true how are we ever going to bounce back from this kind of economic brake down? The new “Jobs Bill” that the Senate has produced is a joke, it’s been cut down and will have no looking term effect. The original bill of 85 Billion dollars from Senate plan would not have done much help or good either, given the enormity of the challenge. But now they have cut it down to only 15 Billion dollars this is a joke! The federal government spends that much every two minutes of the day. President Obama’s budget projected that 266 Billion dollars would be needed. So really how can we go from 266 Billion to only 15 Billion. You can thank Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for cutting out various items from what had been a 85 Billion Dollars to a 15 Billion Dollars “Jobs Bill”. “We are going to move to a smaller package,“ he said. Statistics are saying that economy will need to create 2.8 million new jobs over the next two years just to cover all the new workers entering the job market. That would still leave the millions who lost there jobs over that next two year period and from before, still without work. I’m not analyst but, I can see that this country is really in deep trouble. There needs to be some serious changes made soon from are government the Senate and the President. This country can’t with stand another two year period of this unemployment and being laid off. We the people need to stand up and be heard that something needs to done now!
